Before you read to into the title, I do love the web. If it wasn't for the internet I wouldn't be writing a blog post at three in the morning for ten people to view in the next four months. Please ignore my sarcasm. The internet has its perks, but unfortunately, I feel like the negatives overpower the positives when it comes to social media and being part of the online world.
I can be a jealous person at times, just like most, and after thinking it through I realize that most of that bubbling, fiery jealousy comes from what I see on Instagram or Snapchat. Friends going to the movies without me, parties that I wasn't invited to, other kids that seem to always have more fun than me and have more friends. Yes, I understand that jealousy has been around long before the internet, but more and more people seem to get hurt from social media. People are using it as a new tool to stab their fellow citizen in the back. Most of the time it seems to be used between two friends fighting. One friend trying to make the other friends jealous and seem more superior, showing that they can have a good time without them.
Intermission. I know, I know, there is so many positives to the internet, so I am just reminding you once again that I am just listing the negatives. Now, if you want me to write an argumentative essay backing up the positives, than send me the check in the mail.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel the constant need to share on their snap story how much fun they're having? Just me? I don't think so. Instead of living in the moment everyone is saving the moment on their phones. Look, one or two pictures I can understand, but three photos for the gram, two videos for the Instagram story, and three videos plus a selfie, plus a picture for each meal to post on Snapchat may not be considered "living in the moment." I am just as attached to the idea of sharing my day on Snapchat as everyone else, but wouldn't life be so much better without it? First thing I am going to do when I get to Disneyland is not jump in line for Space Mountain, but go to the castle to recreate seven different photos I saw on Pinterest. That is the truth.

The internet has its positives, but the negatives definitely make me want to demolish it. It gives false reality and jealously, two things I am desperate to live without.
